We have a great festival coming up at Lisner Auditorium in Feb 2005. That same month, cante lovers will definitely want to go to the Flamenco Festival at Carnegie Hall (in New York) to hear Mayte Martin, Enrique Morente, Estrella Morente, Carmen Linares, Miguel Poveda, Arcángel, La Susi and Diego Carrasco! Just added press release info regarding Rafael de Utrera's DC solo concert debut coming Sunday Oct 3rd! Details. Stay tuned in the next few days for info about promotional giveaways. In the meantime, read a recent New York Times review (requires registration).

Ziva and Joy of Motion have parted ways. She is very focused on her students and will branch out into more specialized fields of flamenco. Her company is growing and will be doing more performances. She now teaches out of her own studio at Rockville. Details.

Flamenco is included is this year's DC Dance Festival for Oct 1-3. See special events. Checkout the Dance DC Festival Trailer (requires Windows Media Player). Can you identify the DC flamencos in this video?

Last night was the 5th annual Latin Grammy's. Paco de Lucia's Cositas Buenas was voted the best flamenco album. List of winners other categories.

There's a raffle to benefit Sara Candela's treatment.
