Just heard that dancer Edwin Aparicio is performing at the Warehouse Theater March 18-19 with guest artist Anna Menendez and Richard Marlow, featuring from Spain "La Truco" and from California, singer Jesus Montoya. Details coming soon.

Oops! Did you know that guitarist Todd Kreuzberg gave a recital last Wednesday in Annapolis? I saw the announcement in the Post, but it's too late. Todd is the son of former DC area flamenco guitarist Tomas de la Cruz.

1/10/2004The DCFLAMENCO website turns 8 years old today! It was the first website of its kind when it was launched in 1996, has received several awards, has been the blueprint for many "local flamenco scene" websites and continues to set the standard of highest quality for websites in this category around the USA and the world. I'll hold off on a celebration until 2006 for the 10th anniversary. In the meantime, I'll settle for patting myself on the back for a job well done. :)
Behzad found an article at flamenco-news announcing that the upcoming tour is Paco de Lucia's last.
Guitarist Torcuato Zamora and dancers are scheduled to perform at Caravela Restaurant next Saturday January 17th.

Just heard that Diego Amador is making his US soloist debut next week in Chicago's Flamenco 2004! festival which also includes a performance by Gerardo Nuñez. Admission for both events is FREE--you Chicago flamencos rock! :)
Guitarist RJ Uebersezig is currently in Chicago where he's checking out the flamenco scene. I hope to get RJ to give us a little report when he gets back.
