12/24/2003According to Flamenco-News.com, Paco de Lucia has a new sextet for his upcoming US tour. He'll be in DC on February 24 at the Warner Theatre.

12/18/2003It's that time of the year, when I get to "toot my own horn." Why? The DC Flamenco website will celebrate its 8th anniversary on January 10, 2004. FACT: it was one of the first flamenco websites published on the Web way back in 1996. Read the comments from the 5th anniversary.
So far there are only two flamenco dance shows scheduled for New Year's Eve: Ginette Perea and friends (accompanied by yours truly) at First Night Alexandria and Torcuato Zamora and dancers at Maxim.

You spent your hard-earned money to learn Sevillanas, so why not apply your new skills at a monthly Sevillanas party (for all levels, at a DC restaurant and open to the public)? Details forthcoming.

In last Friday's issue of the free Spanish language newspaper El Tiempo Latino there's an article about the 'Bailes Ineditos' concert with some great photos by Niko Alexandrou. The article incorrectly refers to guitarist Richard Marlow as the percussionist.
