I've got some catching up to do with my photo diary. Please be patient. My digital camera finally died on me yesterday as I was taking pics of one of my favorite dancers. :-( Good news is that I now have an excuse to buy a new one! If you can recommend a rugged 5-megapixel camera, email me.

9/9/2005Today is guitarist John Boulet's birthday (inventor of Le Technique). Happy Birthday John!
New Orleans-based dancer Solange "Lali" Calix is safe after Katrina. Read the article and another one. She last performed in the DC area in 2002. There will be a nationwide flamenco fundraiser planned around the country for Nov 4-6. Natalia mentioned the idea of one for the DC area. Stay tuned for more info.

You can't really say who is good and who is not, since it is an expression of passion, or at least it should be. If the emotion is not there then they are just putting on a show and people who have seen authentic flamenco can tell the difference...
