Another thing I meant to say in response to Ramin’s comment about La Truco saying she teaches people to control their bodies and anyone can dance....I spent years going to classes and just moving, wondering why, after so long, I still didn’t understand the movements or how to create the style I wanted. When I started my lessons in Fairfax, VA, I learned to control and isolate. Finally understanding the mechanics of the movements has led to a transformation in me and other classmates from awkward, bouncing, balletic dolls to earthy flamenco dancers with attitude. It's freeing to feel that you know you can control your body and it looks darn good dancing. Yeah!
