  1. I would like more info about your group.

I'm flattered that you ask, but I technically don't have a group. I'm an independent freelance flamenco guitarist who can call upon various dancers and other musicians to customize a group depending on what you are interested in having.

I have experience in putting together shows and lecture-demonstrations for schools (K-12 and college), Hispanic Heritage month (September-October), corporate conventions, private parties in restaurants and residences, full-length concerts, international folk festivals.

Just tell me what you you want and I'll help you put together a show.

  2. How can I contact a certain dancer/guitarist/singer that's not listed on your website?

Fortunately, I know just about EVERYONE! We have lots of local performers but not all of them do this professionally. Therefore not everyone wants their contact info listed.

Email me with the name of the person you are trying to contact and I will forward your message to that person.

  3. What do I get in a show and how much does it cost?

It varies depending on your needs/desires of course. But most of the time the performance will be similar to the shows you might see at a local tablao.

Shows with two dancers (recommended) last about 20 minutes, depending on the program. A typical dance program:

    1. Sevillanas (couple dance)
    2. Solea (long solo dance)
    3. Alegrias (long solo dance)
    4. Bulerias (short finale with both dancers)

Sometimes it can be split into two short shows. Or if you have an educational need, the program can be extended further with some lecture demonstration and if desired some audience participation.

In addition to the the dancers, you will need to hire a flamenco guitarist. There a small handful in the area and they are very busy. So if you have a specific date in mind, BOOK EARLY! They usually have their own sound equipment, but sometimes will be willing to use house sound equipment or that of the DJ if you have one at your event.

VERY IMPORTANT: you'll need to provide a wooden stage or non-slippery dance floor. The footwork, if you don't already know this, is a very important part of the dance show. Having dancers perform on carpet or bare concrete/cement is not a good thing. The dancers will not like it and, chances are, neither will your audience.

Artist fees vary so you'll have to get a quote directly from the person negotiating with. Bear in mind that the busier performers will have to "take time off" from their regular shows to make themselves available for your event if it's on the same night. They'll have to factor in costs of finding replacements, transportation expenses, travel time, etc.

Most of the performers use contracts. So get it all in writing. It protects you and also the performers. Most of them are professionals whose main source of income depends on shows like these. So it's very very bad to cancel a show on short notice. Carefully choose a performance date and stick to it.
