Bio

Mariana Gatto traces her origins to the Gypsy communities of Bulgaria. She is a disciplined and determined dancer who began performing flamenco in adult venues at age 6. She rapidly became passionate about ballet, flamenco and other forms of dance and performing arts.

She has won several awards, including the Grand Prix Award at the Vienna International Ballet Experience, and international scholarships.

She has performed alongside the renowned flamenco dancer and choreographer Rafael Amargo in his Dionisio: la vid y mil noches in Barcelona, in Sonia Dorado's Spain Spectacular at Teatro Calderón in Madrid, in Nélida Tirado's Dime Quién Soy at Jacob's Pillow and Queen's Theatre, in Edwin Aparicio's Salvador at GALA Hispanic Theatre, with the Gipsy Kings in their US tours and recently in Jesús Muñoz: En Cabaret at Flamenco Works Inc and Volver at Kimo Theatre in Albuquerque.

In the DC area, she has been a regularly featured performer in restaurants including Claudia’s Steakhouse, Bodega, Bodegón, El Mercat Bar de Tapas, José Andres Spanish Diner and Taberna del Alabardero.
