Bambule October 30, 2003 Thursday is the busiest night for flamenco in DC. There are three flamenco shows: Andalucía, Las Tapas and Bambule. Sometimes when I finish up my show at Andalucía (which starts at 8pm), I take a quick 15-minute trip on the metro to catch the 9:30pm show at Bambule. Coming along with me to see the show: Monica Serrano, manager of Andalucía and her friend Luz Elena.

Luz Elena and Monica Serrano at Bambule October 30, 2003 10:07pm Las Tapas and El Pike October 22, 2003 On Wednesdays at Las Tapas, guitarists Amilcar Cruz and Michael Bard accompany singers Carolina Marín and Indira Terrazas. It happened to be Michael's birthday, so we had a little celebration in his honor. Guitarist Richard Marlow showed up and joined the group in a rumba.

Indira and Miguelito at El Pike October 23, 2003 1:15am. I had the privilege of hanging out with Indira, a local celebrity. She's a disc jockey at the radio station Viva on 900 AM. Her show is called Una Canción de Amor y Novacientos Recuerdos which airs Monday through Friday 7:00pm-10:00pm.
