Arte Flamenco at Mason District ParkFriday July 18, 2003 Yours truly had the pleasure of performing with Natalia Monteleón's Arte Flamenco company in the beautiful setting of the Newton W. Edwards Amphitheater in Mason District Park. Despite the rain earlier, people still came out and filled the seats of this outdoor theater. It didn't rain during the show, fortunately. A number of local flamencos were among the audience including dancer Joana del Río, who, with encouragement of her fellow flamencos, came up onstage for a little Sevillanas. Dancer Ginette Perea arrived early and sat in the front row. I took advantage of the opportunity to recruit her as an official DC Flamenco photographer. Thanks Ginette!
