Marina Herédia is an entrancing voice from Granada and important figure in the new generation of flamenco singers. She shares the stage with the Arab-Andalusian Chekara Orchestra of Tetouan, which has collaborated with many of flamenco's leading singers and includes musicians on violin, oud (lute), kanun (zither), guitar, and percussion, and dancer Jara Herédia.
Tres Culturas is presented in co-operation with the Spain-USA Foundation, the Embassy of Spain, Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Spanish Presidency of European Union.

His show "La Edad de Oro" (The Golden Age) strips flamenco to its bare essence, sculpting a form that is both steeped in tradition and intoxicated by the moment. Galván is joined by the renowned vocalist Fernando Terremoto, son of the legendary Terremoto, and guitarist Alfredo Lagos, with artistic direction by Pedro G. Romero.

Latin Ballet of Virginia in Passion, Love and Roses
The Latin Ballet of Virginia proudly presents Passion, Love & Roses choreographed and directed by guest artist Antonio Hidalgo under the supervision of the Antonio Gades Foundation from Spain. Mr. Hidalgo is a renowned flamenco and Spanish folk dance performer/choreographer who uses traditional forms to express modern situations. He has performed as a principal dancer for Antonio Gades, a legend and master teacher/choreographer whose vision of flamenco on film and stage changed how the world saw the dance form. Mr Hidalgo has been tasked with restaging Gades' works for continued preservation.
Passion, Love & Roses is based on Federico García Lorca's literature and Antonio Gades' choreographic history combined to showcase their vision of the people of Andalucía, Spain. Passion, Love & Roses centers on three female themes of Lorca's tragedies of love, frustration, fate, freedom, death, romanticism and womanhood: The House of Bernarda Alba, Yerma and Dona Rosita 'La Soltera.' These three themes are based on the life and struggles of Spanish women during the historical periods of bourgeois life, social modernization and World War I. Passion, Love & Roses will include traditional Spanish and Flamenco as well as Spanish Contemporary and Theatrical Dance.
The New York Times noted: "At the peak of Antonio Gades' stage career in the 1960's and 70's, Mr. Gades became Spain's best-known dancer, on the way to rivaling the flamenco legends of the past." His works feature highly-charged emotional content, making his pieces easily relatable regardless of the culture of the audience.
Passion Love and Roses is sponsored in part by The National Endowment for the Arts.
