01/14/2005: "Benavent, Pardo and Dantas at Blues Alley January 26-30, 2005"


If you instantly recognize these names (Benavent, Pardo and Dantas), then it's very likely you are a fan of Paco de Lucia and his sextet. Carles Benavent plays bass and mandola. Jorge Pardo plays saxopohone and flute and Rubem Dantas plays cajon. But for their Blues Alley appearance January 26-30, 2005, they'll be backing up keyboardist Chick Corea. I don't if there will be flamenco in their repertoire, but I can promise you that these are some of the best musicians you'll ever see and hear.

Here are some pics from an all-night party with Dantas and Pardo at Catalan West restaurant (closed in 2001) in downtown DC.
