In 2000, I went to Madrid to work in a lab. Because I was working, I couldn't take any flamenco classes during the day, and not many were offered at night. So I decided to take private lessons with Eli "La Truco".

SHE WAS GREAT! If you've seen me perform solea por bulerias, that is her choreography! She was an incredible teacher! She made sure I understood all the steps by going over them until I got it down. She also took the time to really work on the styling of the arms and body, not just learning the steps. Her choreography is great as well! It's not overly complicated (so it's something that you can actually use), but it's POWERFUL! I especially enjoyed her enthusiasm and energy that she brought to each and every class!!

I was able to attend one of her day classes, and it was packed - she is
obviously a very popular instructor - rightfully so!! I hope everyone
takes advantage of this wonderful opportunity to take her workshop while she's here in DC! I know I will!!
